In the early 2000s, the Jews of Austria publish a number of journals and papers, which also have a wide readership among expatriate Austrian Jews. The Jewish periodicals published in Vienna include the monthly Gemeinde ("The Community"), the official organ of the Jewish Community of Austria, whose main task is information about events in the community for members of the IKG, the monthly Illustrierte Neue Welt ("Illustrated New World"), the three-monthly David, dedicated to cultural issues and the yearly Das Juedische Echo. Austria's leading liberal daily Der Standard was founded in 1988 by Oskar Bronner. The Austrian Jewish Students Union has its own bulletin called Nudnik. The Chief Rabbi has a radio program. There is a Jewish bookshop in Vienna.
