A son of Swerzlein of Vienna is mentioned in 1319 as Marchart of Zistersdorf. Between 1380-1415 five Jewish men named after Zistersdorf were known, some of them living in Vienna. The Jews were affected by the “Vienna Gezera” in 1420-1421.
In 1509, Emperor Maxmilian I declared in his function as Duke of Austria that the Jew Hirschl of Graz, living in Eisenstadt, may settle in Zistersdorf.
