Founded in 1901, the Jewish community of Hollabrun included also Jews living in Göllersdorf, Grund, Hadres, Haugsdorf, Kalladorf, Mailberg, Retz, Schöngrabern and Wullersdorf.
In 1932, there were 418 Jews in Hollabrunn. The community maintained several communal institutions, including a synagogue and a cemetery. There was also a Chevra Kaddisha (burial society). Among the rabbis of the community a special mention should be made of Dr. M. Rosenmann from Floridsdorf.
