In 1890, there were 25 Jewish families (97 persons) living in Gaenserndorf, and in 1923 there were 543 Jewish inhabitants in Gaenserndorf.
The Jewish community organization of Gaenserndorf was founded in 1907, and included members who lived in Aderklaa, Angern, Auersthal, Bockfliess, Deutsch-Wagram, Gerasdorf, Goetzendorf, Grossngersdorf, Lassee, Marchegg, Matzen, Pirawarth, Roggendorf, Strassof, Sussenbrunn of the district Wolkersdorf.
The Jewish community maintained several communal institutions, a synagogue, a prayer house in Lassee and a cemetery. Among the rabbis of the community was Dr. M. Rosenmann from Floridsdorf.
