The earliest recorded mention of Jewish life in Bruck an der Leitha dates from 1351. The Jews living in Bruck an der Leitha were moneylenders who mostly lent to winegrowers of the region, but they had also business relations with Vienna and Pressburg (Bratislava). The Jews from Bruck an der Leitha were expelled in 1420/21, and moved to Pressburg and Wiener Neustadt.
